A Shopify development agency for UK brands has to get the dull details right: prices shown with VAT, a delivery promise that matches the courier, a returns page people can find, and a checkout that does not make a shopper reach for a different card. We are a senior team in Noida, India, and we build Shopify stores for UK sellers remotely.
A Shopify store starts from $3,000, quoted in US dollars, and the price is agreed in writing before work starts. That covers a customised theme, up to 50 products, payments and shipping for one market, and 30 days of fixes. Shopify's own plan and app subscriptions are extra and billed by them.
We are online 09:00 to 21:00 India time, Monday to Saturday. That is 03:30 to 15:30 in UK winter (GMT) and 04:30 to 16:30 in summer (BST), so your mornings and early afternoons overlap with ours. Every message gets a reply within 12 hours.
What a UK shopper expects at checkout
British shoppers expect to see prices that already include VAT, a clear delivery cost before the last step, and the usual ways to pay: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and often a buy-now-pay-later option. Address entry should accept a UK postcode and fill in the rest without fuss.
We set the store up for pounds, UK address formats and a checkout that tells the shopper what they will pay before they commit. Which methods you offer is your decision, and provider fees are between you and them. We test a real order in each method before launch.
UK VAT: set up for your accountant to check
Most UK online sales to consumers are shown with VAT included, and Shopify has settings for tax-inclusive prices and for tax lines on invoices and order emails. How VAT applies to your products, your turnover and any sales to other countries depends on your situation, and it is not ours to decide.
So we ask your accountant for the fields and rules they need, set the store to match, and test a sample order for them to check. We do not give tax advice. Please treat everything about VAT, and about duties if you sell outside the UK, as something to confirm with your own accountant before you go live.
Royal Mail, couriers and Click and Collect
Delivery is often the biggest source of complaints in UK online retail. We set shipping zones and rates for the UK mainland and the places you choose to treat differently, such as the Highlands and Islands or Northern Ireland, where couriers often charge more. We connect Royal Mail or the couriers you already have an account with, but only where their integration for Shopify is available and your account supports it. If it is not, we tell you and suggest the nearest workable option, such as a label export.
If you have a shop or a stockroom, Shopify's local pickup can offer Click and Collect at checkout, with a ready-to-collect email. We set up each location, opening hours and the pickup instructions.
- Rates by weight, price or zone, with free-delivery thresholds if you want them
- Courier or Royal Mail labels, where the integration exists for your account
- Click and Collect by location, with an email that tells the customer when to come
- Delivery wording on product pages that matches what the courier really does
Returns, consumer rights and the pages people check
UK consumer rules generally give online shoppers a right to cancel and return many goods within a set period, and exceptions apply to things like made-to-order items. We do not write your legal terms. We place the returns policy, delivery policy and terms that you or your adviser provide, and make them easy to find from the footer and the product page.
We can set up a returns flow that fits how you work: a simple form, an instruction page, or an app if your volumes justify the monthly cost.
Peak weeks and the calendar
UK retail has predictable spikes: Black Friday, the run up to Christmas, Boxing Day and the January sales, plus Mother's Day in March and Father's Day in June for gift brands.
We aim to finish builds well before these dates, test checkout and discount codes under realistic use, and tell you the cut-off dates for a safe launch. We agree a freeze date in the plan.
When a UK-based agency is the better choice
If you want someone to visit your warehouse, photograph your products in person, or sit with your team each week, a UK-based agency is the better choice.
We suit brands that want senior Shopify work and a written scope, and are comfortable with video calls.

Your data
Personal data and a team in India
If your project touches personal data about people in the UK, UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to you, and sending that data to a supplier in another country is a transfer the ICO has guidance on.
- We write down, before work starts, which personal data we would see, where it lives and who has access.
- We work inside your accounts and tools, so the data stays where you keep it, and you can remove our access at any time.
- Whether a transfer to India needs extra safeguards depends on your setup. Your own adviser decides; we supply what they need to ask.
- For marketing messages, the UK has its own rules on email and SMS consent (PECR). We build consent capture, and you stay responsible for who you message.
This is plain-language information about how we work, not legal advice. Please have your own adviser check what applies to your business.
How we contract
Clear terms, before you spend anything
The commercial side in plain words. The full wording is in our terms, and your proposal sets the details.
- A written proposal comes firstScope, deliverables, milestones, price and timeline, in writing. Work starts when you accept it.
- The price does not moveOnce agreed, the number in the proposal is the number on the invoice. Changes to scope are quoted as a written change request and only built once you approve them.
- You pay by milestoneProjects are paid in milestones set in your proposal. No project is billed in full upfront. Invoices are payable within 14 days unless your agreement says otherwise.
- You own the workCode, designs and accounts are registered to your company from day one. We keep our own pre-existing tools and methods.
- No lock-inEither side can end a project with written notice, and you pay for the work done up to then. Retainers run month to month with 30 days written notice.
- 30 days of fixes after launchDefects in what we delivered are fixed for 30 days after launch. New features and third-party changes are quoted separately.
Quick answers
About cost and timing
The things people ask right after they see a price.
A Starter store is from $3,000, a Growth store is $6,000 to $15,000, and Premium builds are $15,000 to $45,000 or more. We quote in US dollars. Shopify plan fees and app subscriptions are extra. The price is agreed in writing before work starts and does not change while the scope stays the same.
A Starter store is often live in a few weeks. Growth builds with migrations or integrations take longer, usually because of product data, photography and approvals. You get a written timeline after the first call. If you need to launch before Black Friday, say so early so we can plan back from that date.
We invoice in USD and agree the schedule before work starts, by international bank transfer. Ask your accountant about VAT on an overseas supplier's invoice. Customer data stays in your Shopify account, and we ask for only the access a task needs. UK GDPR duties are yours, so confirm them with your adviser.

Cost, timing, trust and ownership, answered before you ask.
Still have a question?
Thirty minutes with us usually answers everything, including whether we are the right fit.
We set up the store so prices, tax lines and invoices can show what your accountant tells us, then test a sample order for them. We do not give tax advice. How VAT applies to your products, turnover and overseas sales is a matter to confirm with your own accountant before launch.
Where the integration exists for Shopify and your account supports it, yes. Not every service or account level works, so we check with you first. If it does not, we suggest the nearest option, such as exporting orders for label printing. Courier rates and cut-off times come from them.
Yes, if you have a shop or stockroom. Shopify's local pickup lets us offer collection at checkout, with opening hours and a ready-to-collect email. Your team still has to pack orders in the time you promise, so we ask you to agree that time with us before it appears on the site.
You do. The Shopify store, domain, theme code and designs are in accounts that belong to you, and we are added as staff. Ownership is yours once the agreed payment is made. If we part ways, your team or another developer can carry on, because we use standard Shopify tools and write handover notes.
Mostly. We work 09:00 to 21:00 IST, Monday to Saturday, which is 03:30 to 15:30 in UK winter and 04:30 to 16:30 in summer. We are not online in your evening. Calls happen in your morning or early afternoon, and every message gets a reply within 12 hours.
Mainly senior time for your money. A smaller senior team in Noida costs less to run, so more of the budget goes on building and testing. The trade-off is distance. We handle it with a named lead, a weekly demo and written summaries. If you want in-person visits, a UK agency suits you better.
